1. There’s only one male northern white rhino in the world . . . and he’s protected 24 hours a day by armed guards in Kenya.

2. Maine was almost a Canadian province called New Ireland. The British seized it for Canada during the War of 1812, but eventually decided to pull out their troops and give it back to America.

3. There was only one guy who survived the atomic bombings in both Hiroshima AND Nagasaki. His name is Tsutomu Yamaguchi and he died in 2010, at age 93.

4. North Korea just decided to create its own time zone. And this weekend, they’ll pause for a half hour so their clocks are 30 minutes behind Japan and South Korea.

5. The first actor to play James Bond was an American. Barry Nelson played him in an episode of a TV show called “Climax!” in 1954 . . . eight years before the first Bond movie.
